[some content edited for privacy and brevity] > husband & I are going to the El Dorado Seaside in February/March and I > had a few question please. Would you recommend a room on the south end > of the resort because of the retaining wall on the north end? I don't think it matters that much. On the north end you'd definitely be closer to the facilities (restaurants, bars, shops). The wife and I like to walk so the distance to the extreme south end did not bother us. OTOH, I wouldn't get too invested in specific requests made to Mexican resorts. It's nice if you get some request fulfilled, but I wouldn't bet any kids on the deal. :-) > Also we > have requested a jacuzzi suite on the 2nd floor and I was wondering if > the balcony/terrace/deck is large enough for two people to sit on > comfortably, or is it taken up by the jacuzzi? On ours there was a jacuzzi, a hammock, and a hammocky chair (all comfortable). Both folks fit in the jacuzzi fine. I think people could fit in the chair and in the hammock at the same time, but we didn't try. The area in addition to the jacuzzi is maybe 8'x4'. If you wanted to pull another chair out there you'd probably end up taking the hammock down off the hooks. In this picture: http://www.mousetrap.net/~mouse/images/mexico2004/el%20dorado/P1010044.JPG you can't tell it but the balcony extends for the full width of the room (wall to wall). The jacuzzi is behind the wall on the left side of the picture, and takes up 1/3 or 1/4 of the length of the balcony. You can also judge the generous size of the balcony by the "hang" of the hammock in this picture: http://www.mousetrap.net/~mouse/images/mexico2004/mary/DSC00309.JPG You can mentally complete the arc of how the hammock is hanging at a diagonal across the non-jacuzzi area of the balcony. I never felt cramped on the balcony. > Is there lounge chairs > or just chairs? Thank you in advance. Hammocky chair. Hard to describe, but comfortable. Soft cotton macrame webbing over a wooden frame. I hope this helps.
