and stop wasting the station's (and subscribers') money on:
Diane Rehm. Good... lord... why... does... she... have... a... radio show. Her guests are good, but her attitude is a grandmotherly "well, somebody ought to do something!" trope. Real crap. The only time the show is listenable is when a guest sits in for her.
Tavis Smiley Weak, very weak.
The People's Pharmacy Borderline kookery.
That Dan in Tyler kook. What the hell
is wrong with this guy, and why don't the KERA producers shut
him down? It's an embarrasment to have one monomaniac dominate
the lines.
One Last Rant
And for Pete's sake: cut out the self-congratulatory attitude about "no
commercials" when underwriters are definitely airing commercials.
Just taking out a single call-to-action word like "go" or "call" doesn't
mean it's not a commercial, you smarmy bastids. You may have the FCC
fooled, but your audience is bright and they know the deal. Ever heard
the theme to Marketplace? Hint: "we bring good things to life".
I'd rather have NPR content on a commercial station than listen to the whine-a-thons.
