Put it in a quart or 6 cup pot. Add 4 times as much cold water as grits. Add salt to taste, and a small bit of butter or margarine. When cooked you will get about 4 times of grits bulk as what you started with. If you want grits thinner add more water. We cooked them till they were creamy. They will be like cream of wheat only more thicker. Be sure to stir constantly when cooking. My wife uses a spatula to stir from bottom, and a low heat.
