DOS & Windows File management
Course description
End file management confusion and frustration!!! Learn to manage your files with the important Windows file
manager and the needed DOS file prompt. Compare and contrast both Windows File Manager and the DOS
command prompt to find, identify, back-up, copy, rename, and delete your files. Also learn to perform routine
maintenance on your files using SCANDISK and DEFRAG; find and delete temporary files. Build confidence in
your ability to manage your important files. This course will help you perform your computer work more efficiently
and help you get organized. Two required textbooks -- DOS - The Introductory Program (Author: Glenco;
Publisher: MacMillan/McGraw- Hill and the book used for the Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 class will also be used.
These books may be purchased at the College bookstore prior to start of class. Please bring two 3-1/2" high
density diskettes to class.
