"For security and efficiency reasons, all suexec requests must remain within either a top-level document root for virtual host requests, or one top-level personal document root for userdir requests. For example, if you have four VirtualHosts configured, you would need to structure all of your VHosts' document roots off of one main Apache document hierarchy to take advantage of suEXEC for VirtualHosts."

14 Jan 2001, 1403hrs - apache didn't restart last night, due to a config problem. I repaired httpd.conf and all is well again.
-=12 Jan 2001=- *Quotas are back online. *pine is online. Be sure to edit the configuration file to show your domain as 'mail.mousetrap.net' because 'malkuth is not routable beyond the firewall. --> pine | Setup | Config | User-domain = mail.mousetrap.net <-- *for those of you with domain named websites, you can customize your 404 message by putting 'missing.html' in your web root. That document will be served on 404 errors. Cool, huh? *you can follow recovery process at: http://www.mousetrap.net/recovery.html *network topology at: http://www.mousetrap.net/network.html
11 Jan 2001, 1200hrs - Got pine running. Be sure to change your user-domain to mail.mousetrap.net because 'malkuth' is not a routable name.
Got MySQL server running, though unconfigured and I think I've lost my old dfweats and Coptic Oracle databases.
ircii back online.
8 Jan 2001, 1402hrs - I may be an idiot.
Tested all the backup scripting last night, then made a change before I stuck them in the root crontab. Woke up this morning with the pop3d groaning under a 350MB email in my spool. Duh!!! I would have just deleted the whole spoolfile, but there was good email before and after the binary stuff. Note to self: vim will edit huge files, but it takes a while...
7 Jan 2001, 2112hrs - wrote, tested, and installed new admin scripts for quota, backup, log rotation and other scheduled maintenance.
Burned backup of the new system to CD-R.
6 Jan 2001, 2125hrs - added back in some other accounts that were POP-hosted here.
6 Jan 2000, 1333hrs - added back user accounts for domained hosted accounts.
6 Jan 2000, 0013hrs - ftp is working somewhat. CBSRMT script broken, so I'm doing it manually.
5 Jan 2000, 2340hrs - got ~mouse site stored from personal backup. Lots of stuff is still busted, ftp is gone, personal sites are toast.
5 Jan 2000, 2330hrs - got www.mousetrap.net files restored
5 Jan 2000, 2149hrs - restored domained sites from backup (backup cd-r stored in fire safe)
5 Jan 2000, 1900hrs - fscking DNS... it will take a few days for new DNS info to propagate.
5 Jan 2000, 1900hrs - box is dead. It had been acting flaky the last week or two, mainly disc problems. Finally fell over and remained unrecoverable while I was trying to update wu-ftpd. Filesystem is hopeless.
Will move over functionality to the Malkuth box which was already in place. The new server lives behind the firewall.
