Team Mousetrap - custom website software
I started programming on a TI 99/4a around 1980 or so. I've still
got that little beast, and from time to time I build little TI Basic
proggies and save them to the cassette (!) tape drive. What a blast.
For the last few years I've made my living writing CGI code; this is the
server-side stuff that makes many webpages dynamic and interesting. CGI
is used for guestbooks, banner rotations, database interaction, contact
forms, etc. Fun stuff, Maynard.
I will build custom CGI software for you, or adopt most any existing CGI
script for your purposes. You can see my portfolio
to get an idea of my past work.
Every hit to the main page and it's mirrors (see the note about mirrors
on the main page) gets logged by a cgi routine
in addition to normal webserver logging.
This cgi routine can help track how people are entering your site, and
where they were immediately previous to your page. This is especially
nifty if the user came to you from a search engine: frequently the
keywords they used to find you are passed along with the previous-page
information.
Check out a snippet of logfile from today.
