BioJason Carr was born in Dallas in 1966 and has lived in Texas all his life except for military service. He graduated from Newman Smith high school in 1984 and began a four-year enlistment in the United States Army that year. His tour of duty missile system took him to Fort Sill, OK for training and then overseas to the former Federal Republic of Germany (BRD/FRG) for active duty. Stationed about 40km outside Stuttgart in Schwaebish Gmuend, he extended his overseas tour to cover the rest of his enlistment. Upon completion of his enlistment he began coursework at ETSU (now Texas A&M Commerce) and finished a Bachelor of Arts in History (Philosophy minor). Jason enrolled at UTA and took a Master of Arts in European History (Architectural History minor), and then stayed there to begin a Ph.D. program in Transatlantic History. His focus is on the relationship between pan-Africanism and Prince Hall Freemasonry in the 18th and 19th centuries. Jason has had a varied work experience: bakery trainer for La Madeleine, call center manager, webmaster, owner of a small ISP (Cyberline.net), sole proprietor of Team Mousetrap (www.mousetrap.net) and technical instructor for DFW-area colleges. In the early nineties he was also sysop of Penny University, a BBS in Las Colinas affiliated with FidoNet, AfroNet, and DHYnet. When not up at UTA, Jason can usually be found either on UseNet, in the kitchen, listening to Old Time Radio Shows (especially CBS Radio Mystery Theater), playing with the TiVo, or trying to learn C++ from a book for the umpteenth time. $Id: bio.orb,v 1.3 2002/12/30 21:18:02 mouse Exp $
